After The
DEADLINE
By Mark E. Battersby
EACH YEAR, medical practitioners fi nd themselves racing to beat the tax deadlines imposed by
the Internal Revenue Service. Many individuals and businesses dread those deadlines, because
they are unable to pay the taxes due by April 15. While the IRS is strict about wanting "its"
money on time and in full, there are a number of legitimate options for delaying payments,
delaying fi ling or breaking payments up into installments. In addition, practitioners who catch
errors or omissions can amend their returns even after they have been fi led.
