The rise in demand
for dermal fi llers is
spurring new interest
in facial implants.

AESTHETIC SURGEONS
generally have two options for patients
who want to improve the symmetry
and structural appearance of their
faces—adding fi llers or inserting
implants. While fi llers are signifi cantly
less expensive than surgery, they do
have limitations. "Fillers are softer and
will augment, but they don't change
you structurally like an implant. A cheek
implant, for example, will really change
the way your face looks," says Suzanne
Kim Doud Galli, MD, PhD, a facial plastic
surgeon based in Washington, D.C.
