Both the 1% and 2% doses showed statisti- cally signifi cant reductions in non-nodular infl am- matory acne lesions when compared to vehicle. The absolute mean change in the number of acne lesions from baseline to week 12 for each arm was: 15.5 (BPX-01 1%), 15.4 (BPX-01 2%) and 11.3 (vehicle). The secondary endpoint was defi ned as the proportion of subjects with at least a two-grade reduction in Investigator's Global Assessment (IGA) to clear "0" or almost clear "1." The pro- portion that achieved this endpoint was 22.7% for BPX-01 2%, 16% for BPX-01 1%, and 17.1% for vehicle. "These results represent a major milestone for the company and offer the potential of BPX-01 as the fi rst topical minocycline gel for moderate-to-severe acne, optimizing safety and effi cacy of a proven antibiotic for this con- dition to millions of patients," said Anja Kram- mer, co-founder and president of BioPharmX. "We look forward to sharing detailed phase 2b data with the investor and medical communi- ties over the coming months."
